This new Award for 2019 will help advance the quality of pain management in Ireland by recognising and rewarding initiatives or management approaches that improve the Standard of Care. Central to this, the Award will identify those individuals, and/or teams that are innovative with existing or new technologies and/or procedures, that have real scope to improve the Standard of Care.
The judges across this category will be looking for those who can show they have overcome challenges to provide outstanding care for those with severe chronic pain conditions.
The Award is open to any individual and/or team which is primarily focused on the treatment and management of severe chronic pain, providing direct patient care.
We will be looking for those who can demonstrate they are providing:
- Innovation Pain Management that is patient-centred and evidence-based, and can demonstrate a clinically meaningful change in patient Quality of Life.
- Appropriate access to multidisciplinary care through the involvement of the wider team, specialists and disciplines to ensure expert care.
- A commitment to the advancement of pain management across Ireland and further afield.
- Work which is carried out in the direct hospital setting, or within the academic, clinical research settings.
Of particular interest will be those initiatives that are easily replicable across other centres and pain types, optimize existing resources, or are supported by a convincing case that would secure additional resources to support their execution.
Who can enter:
This category is open to all hospital professionals/teams working within any pain management hospital departments in Ireland.
Applications can be through nominating an individual or yourself.
Each submission will be judged by an independent judging panel.
All entries will be handled in the strictest confidence and will not be made available to any party not involved with judging the awards. If your entry is shortlisted, the awards organisers may wish to reproduce a summary of your entry, photographs and any other supporting materials in the finalists’ booklet or within other materials they produce to promote the awards including all press materials.
